Some people rate lots of content on Empire Avenue.  However, I know from looking at people’s achievements that lots more don’t rate much at all — and by rating I mean using the thumbs up and thumbs down feature on the site.  There are four good reasons that you should be using the thumbs whenever you see something really good or bad.  

The first is you will earn achievements for ratings and get credits with those achievements.  Pretty straightforward.

The second reason is that the system will award you with more activity credits and drive up your share price over night.  Not a lot, but this is about using every opportunity over time to amass real influence and wealth.

The third reason is that you are rewarding good content providers with influence credits from the system.  And encouraging more good content is a positive thing.

Finally, Empire Avenue has now given you the ability to sort your headlines by Thumbs Up and Down ratings.  If more of us use the ratings, good content will really rise to the top.  

As a side note, good content on Empire Avenue is really important.  Along with good gameplay, it’s good content that is going to help the site grow and thrive rather than getting stale over time.  Because if you are like me, you want Empire Avenue to be the next Twitter or Facebook.  What will my shares be worth then?
